Welcome Address!

So this is for those who wants a sample if ever they're going to make a welcome address. I deleted the names since this is a public blog :) I made this during my 4th year of high school.

Welcome Address
“An end of one beginning, A start of something new ”

___________; _____________; Ms. ___________; Mr___________; Mr. _________; Department heads; Faculty and Staff; Honorable guests; parents; friends; fellow graduates, Good Afternoon and Greetings of Peace!

March 25, 2011, today is indeed special for us. It marks the culmination of 6 years in elementary school and 4 years in secondary school. We’ve gone far and wide to chase after a journey, it ends here, but a new one had just been opened for all of us. This is the day where we vow to spread our wings and fly to our dreams.

Four years ago, I entered this institution. As a person who came from a campus smaller than this, I remember how I would stand in awe and scream about how big and beautiful this place is. I was so excited because of that, but seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years passed, this became not just a structure for me, it is now a treasure. I believe that my fellow graduates feel the same.

All of us now have memories that we will hold dear - how we cry, complain, eat, cram, and even laugh at the corniest jokes. It has been a rollercoaster ride for us. It had its glorious moments  and its emotion laden sad times.  Friends, who we now treat as a second family; teachers and advisers Mr. _____________ and Ms. ___________ who served as parents, they really have touched our lives. Our batch have groups, Tropang Cabana; C5; VIP; TGC; Bogarts; Bardagurls; tambay sa 3rd floor; anymotion; Koro Dominikano; Speech Choir , but we are united. Every year we grew closer together, the bond we have now is unbreakable. Gratitude is overflowing.

High school is the best! It is just heartbreaking how time flows so fast. But, I dived deep into my emotions, I know that I have no regrets.

For my fellow graduates, we are about to part ways. Reality is harsh.  But, we’ve grown up a little. Everyone of us will surely trip or fall over, but from that, we will become a little stronger. A new and different routine will start. How we’ll miss the flag ceremony and  morning exercises! Putting that aside, you might be asking if your dreams will come true or how will you look like ten years from now.  Just remember, if things were done easily then there’s no point. This is my promise to you, no matter what happens or how many years will pass, we will still be comrades; friends who care for each other.

Now, as  friends of mine, I want you to do me two favors.  Imagine that you’re a writer and you have a pen in your hand, use that to start writing about a tomorrow that no one else can! Now, imagine that you’re an artist, you hold colours in your hand, start painting about you’re future.  All of us might do things recklessly, but hey, we are passionate.

This graduation will inculcate in us all the experiences and learning we had during our stay here in  Dominican College, our Alma Mater and second home.  The honors and diplomas that will be given to us today is a testimony for all our hard work over the past years.  You have every right to feel good about it.

Let us be grateful to God for this. Without Him, this will not be possible.

At this point, I’m inviting everyone, to not only be a witness but be part of this wonderful day.  We would like to share this moment to our parents and teachers.  Join us as we reap the fruits of our labor through this graduation.

We are about to enter a new chapter. In behalf of my fellow graduating students, Welcome to the __name of school__, High School Batch 2011, the United Seniors graduation commencement exercise!
