A World of Masks

               Admit it. The world we live in isn’t perfect. It is filled with people wearing masks. What I mean is that everyone has certain secrets and for that, they use masks (not literally) to cover it up.

                One example on how people use mask is with the use of expressions. Like if you’re already filled with wrath against a person but every time he/she talks to you, you just give a warm plastic smile. True right? Or if your parents ask you if you feel well but the truth is you’re not, you’ll just say yes and smile to make them stop worrying.

                To put it bluntly, using this masks means having another face. It’s a way to prevent people to see through what you really feel or think. From Rudyard Kipling’s words, "Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are your own fears," it made me come up with the idea that we, humans, try everything to mask this fears. Unfortunately, some use cover-ups for reasons that leaves an impact not everyone desires. People think of techniques to pull off this act. They vary too.

           Today, the best people who can manipulate masks effectively are swindlers. Yeah, ever encountered one? They are people who are good at fooling anyone when it comes to money of feelings. They are people who are good at fooling anyone when it comes to money of feelings. They can really do take advantage of innocent and naive people without even breaking a sweat. For me these guys are the most intimidating and scariest people in the world of masks. A lot of people call them can artists but MASTERS OF DECEPTION also fit them.

                Another simple example are TV and movie actors. Surely they use masks to portray their characters.  Newscasters are also included, they need to show a calm confident face for the camera. That way, viewers will respect them and listen to what they have to say. Ah, now moving on the politicians, they have to be on this list. Talking in general, they smile and wave for the people to believe in their promises that they don’t even intend to keep. Found anything in common? They are all professionals. Though, of course, they’re not the only one. Like I said, we too take part in it. Amazing what masks can do huh?

                Using masks depend on how the person use it. Some use it for evil, some for good, some just for their own sake. Well, I’m not saying that using masks is ever good but believe it or not people use it everyday. He/she might not be aware of it but it really affects others.

That's the TRUTH. 

Face It.
